Flowers

This past summer living in Carman, Manitoba I did not have many people to practise my photography on, being new in the town and not knowing anyone before moving! And so, in lieu of people I took many many pictures of flowers. Yes, flowers. They are quite good subjects to practise photography on because they, unlike people, don't move. It was also a really great way to learn about light and how it impacts your subject, and it was helped me try to get different perspectives to make a photo more interesting. Probably the main thing it helped with was boredom, I had waaaaay to much free time for my own good last summer.

I realize that most of these look like they belong in a calendar; but, I spent too much time with flowers this past summer not to give them a little blog recognition.

My Point Is....

Recently, my fiance and I were talking about how I use 100 words to try to say what I mean when 10 would have been enough. I talk a lot, and ramble. A lot. We talked about ways that I could get my point across in less words. So, without further ado...

My Point Is: I want to do more with my photography.

I am not quite sure what 'more' looks like, but it is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. I could say a lot more, but I really am trying to work on this whole rambling thing.

Some pictures from our trip to Victoria last September that I've been wanting to share - enjoy!
