I Like Anniversaries.

Last week, it was our one year anniversary. One full year of marriage. A year that we wanted to celebrate. Making it through alive and loving each other more than ever.

We decided to celebrate by going on a little mountain getaway - a night in Banff. It was the perfect anniversary trip to take. Everything was just so wonderful. My heart is full.

Banff, in point form:

- Complimentary upgrade to a suite at our hotel. Super exciting.

- Strolling downtown, holding hands, sipping coffee. Window shopping.

- Country chic wallpaper in our hotel room. Love.

- Hot tub caves. Super love.

- Romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant. My favourite part - talking about all the little details of our wedding day and feeling the love and happiness that surrounded it all over again.

- Realized we are not sophisticated enough to eat at fancy restaurants. We like pretending though.

- Paper gifts. Apparently, the first year anniversary gift is paper. I printed our vows on paper and framed them for Scott. He got me a beautiful leaf necklace. 'Cause, you know, leaves grow on trees and paper comes from trees. Yeah, we're way deep like that ;)

- Surrounded by mountains. Amazing views all around.

- Vintage photographs scattered around the hotel. I'm always a sucker for vintage photographs.

- Scott holding my hand tight because it was icy and I wore the worst possible shoes.

- Laughter. Love. Kisses.

Senior Photography: Kendra

Kendra is graduating from high school this year - so some photos were definitely in order to capture this huge milestone. Such an exciting time - so much in store for this incredible, beautiful, talented, funny, girl. Amazing how much she has grown and changed since these photos & these ones too!

Thank you for asking me to take these, Kendra. I loved being able to spend a little bit of time with you. Can't wait to hear about all the amazingness you will accomplish! And just how many cats you will eventually own ;)

Family Photography: The Norris's

It is the biggest compliment when a family asks you to take their photo for a second time.

It was a little over a year ago the first time I captured this family. While some things have changed - how BIG Ali has grown - some things have not. They are such a kind and caring family and this little one has so much spunk, energy, and personality she is always the centre of attention. And it doesn't hurt that she is just so stinking cute.

Love spending time with this wonderful family.

It was meant to be that we got a photo with the train going across the bridge! I wish I could say we planned it but it was a complete coincidence :) Or maybe I should take all the credit and call myself a photography genius?!

The First of Many.

Exactly one year ago today, Scott & I promised forever to each other. This is the first anniversary of very many to come. We have been blessed with a very full first year of marriage.

We have spent the last year learning so much about each other. It has been a year full of laughter, tears, challenges, growth, excitement, too many kisses to count. Our souls have been stretched.

We have spent the last year falling deeper in love.

Our love is far from perfect. But I kind of like it that way. We still have so much to learn. The one thing we work on every day? The most important & most difficult & easiest all at the same time?

To let love win.

This amazing gift we've been given - to love another person with all we have - is so incredibly precious. Our problems, troubles, egos - they all come second.

Love wins. Always.

Happy one year anniversary, love! The first of many.

#1 In Our Hearts.

One of the perks of coming home to Lethbridge is being close enough to go watch my youngest brother play hockey. Don't tell him I said so - but he's pretty awesome.

Michael is the starting goalie for the Brooks Bandits.

I loved being able to make it out to his game and, of course, I brought my camera along.

When I asked him about his number, he responded with - "#1 on the ice & #1 in your hearts". I'll let him have that one.

They won in overtime! AND Michael got player of the game!!! Whoop Whoop!!

Every time I tried to come up with descriptions of his saves - this video is all I can think of. 'Nice try No-goal-ov'. And then I laugh out loud, all by myself.

Married: Josh & Katie

This is a wedding I second shot with Modern Pixel Photography.

From the first moment he set eyes on her walking down the aisle - they never left her. These two share an amazing connection that is almost palpable. Their souls are connected in a way that many only dream of. The smiles, the glances, the whispers in each others ears - pure love.

It was such an honour to be part of their day.
