Manitou Beach

My family recently went on a family holiday to Manitou Beach, Saskatchewan. Why, you ask? It's right in the middle for all of us. And the lake is salt water, something different right?

This was the first trip with just the five of us in almost ten years, and I love that the timing coincided with my last summer as a 'Fredrick'. The reason it's been so long? Well, for the last 4 years my sister has somehow not been invited on our family holidays - it has become somewhat of a joke within the family but it was time to change that.

We had such a nice relaxing time - with no plans but to lay on the beach. There is just something about letting the sun dry the water off your body that bodes well with my soul. We couldn't have picked a better spot - it was the perfect blend of quaint little shops, vintage finds, ice cream, & dirt roads. Here are a couple photo's from the little tiny village of Manitou Beach.

Froese Family

Moving to a small town is pretty tough, not knowing anyone and trying to find an 'in' can be daunting. Which is why us out-of-towners have to stick together - right Michelle?!

Michelle, you are so wonderful and I am so happy to have gotten the chance to meet you. You are such a welcoming, caring, friendly person and so it was no surprise to find out your family is the same. I had a great time getting to know all of you and snap a few photo's of your beautiful family. Especially the little ball of personality that is your daughter ;)

Okay, this picture on the left just kills me. She was chasing bubbles with so much gusto I think this was the only way for her to get all of her excitement out. I love it - so stinking cute!

Yes, I snapped my camera just as the bubble was popping. Some might say I got lucky with that one, I prefer to think of it as sheer talent ;)

Michelle, I think you win the prize for best family photo prop. Possibly ever. I love these next ones.

Bel Acres Wedding: Troy & Alison Part 1

Their love is a quiet love, not over the top and boisterous, but so deeply genuine that no one would doubt it in the least. They don't shout it from the rooftops - they show it in many smalls ways each day. He brings her tea in the morning and knows just how to make her laugh. She cuts him another piece of homemade pizza and puts up with all the golf. They fit together seamlessly.

I had the incredible honour and joy to not only witness Troy and Alison promise forever to each other but to also photograph their day. Their wedding was so full of love and laughter - a testament to the type of people they are.

Troy and Alison, I hope that you are having an amazing time in Europe. Thank you so much for trusting me enough to ask me to be your photographer, I am so incredibly grateful.

I started the day off with Alison and her bridesmaids at her sisters house.
