This was another wonderful wedding that I second shoot with Modern Pixel Photography. So thankful I was able to be a part of this wedding and meet this lovely couple.
I was able to spend time with the girls before heading over to photograph the guys getting ready and it was interesting for me to meet both Bre-Ann and Jason separately - I was able to see how they instantly and visibly they relaxed as soon as they were in the presence of one another. How they were more at ease with the one they loved most by their side. Beautiful - just like their entire day.
This was the first time I got to experience a couple doing a 'first look' where they see each other before the ceremony. It was so beautiful so witness the couple share a private moment together to really put the focus on what's important - their love.
Huge thanks again to Modern Pixel for asking me to help out on this wedding! Read Modern Pixel's full blog post here.

He's Awesome*
My husband, Scott, won his first Manitoba PGA event last week - the Manitoba Assistant's Championship. I got a message with the amazing news and a little while later he walked in the door holding this huge trophy with an equally huge smile on his face. I made sure to smother him with hugs and kisses - even if he is more interested in showing the love to his trophy...
I haven't stopped smiling since - I am so unbelievably proud of him. I am just so excited - my heart is STILL doing high kicks! You know, because if I tried to actually do high kicks, I might get hurt ;)
Congratulations my love - I see all the hard work and dedication you put into your golf game and it is amazing to see it all pay off! I love you - like a lot :) xoxoxoxo
Read Carman Valley Leader's write up about Scott here.
*I asked Scott if I could blog about him today - he said yes, only if I made the title 'He's Awesome.' He said he was only kidding but I couldn't think of anything better - and it is true. He is awesome :)

Graduation Day
I can barely believe it - my littlest brother is graduating from high school this year. He is the last in my family to graduate and a couple weeks ago my family all came together to help celebrate with him at his school's graduation ceremony. He just can't wait to get his photo on the wall with the rest of us....
Of course, getting ready took longer than anticipate so we had about 5 minutes before Michael & his date, Mathea, had to be at the dinner - Iforced them asked nicely we if could sneak in super quick photo shoot in the middle of the street outside our house. I think we made pretty good use of those 5 minutes :)
And of course, when my family all get together you know there will be a new set of our infamous family photo's ;)
Congrats littlest brother!!!

Married: Jon & Brittny
I had the incredible honour of second shooting for Modern Pixel Photography at Jon & Brittny's wedding. Being the second shooter, I had not met the couple before hand but immediately could tell they are kind, unique, very loved individual's.
The ceremony took place at Ellice Theatre & Cafe and the reception at Patricia's Ballroom and every single detail from the day shone with the bride & groom's personality - it was definitely a wedding like no other. I loved all the movie themed aspects and the fun easy going feel to the whole day.
Check out Modern Pixel's full post here. Enjoy some of the images I captured from Jon & Brittny's wonderfully theatrical day....

Documenting life. My own, that is.
Photographers are the ones who document other peoples lives. Other's big milestones and important days, and sometimes, documenting our own lives takes the back burner.
This past weekend I went home, to Lethbridge, for my littlest brothers high school graduation. I decided before I started the long drive that I wanted to make an extra effort to document this weekend. Of course, the big important things - like the graduation ceremony - but the little things in between as well.
I also decided to use my iPhone for all of this documenting. To show that you don't need a fancy camera to capture the beauty in your everyday life. To capture the memories. After all, the best camera is the one you have with you.
And so, my past weekend. In Instagrams.

Just Because: Amy & Jordan
We met at the Fix. They were the first to join me at the new table I started and from the very first hello I knew they were special.
It was their exuberant joy and excitement.
I just knew, these two? Kindred Spirits. And, believe me, I don't throw that term out lightly. After that first night, I felt like we had been friends forever. It only took our third outing together that we all decided - we were destined to be besties.
It was that third outing, going to hear Zach & Jody speak, that I part of their history. The night they decided, to make a leap of faith, to go for it. To rebrand as Amy & Jordan. I am so unbelievably happy and excited for them and the launch of their brand new AMAZING website. Please go and check it out, you'll get a little glimpse of why these two make me so very happy :)
Not only are they talented, caring, giving, joyful individuals - they are pretty cute too. Before I had to leave Phoenix we did a couple photo shoots, remember mine? They set the bar so high that I was incredibly nervous to return the favour and take their photo. Nerves quickly turned to excitement once we were out there - they are just filled with so much joy and love it would have been impossible to take a bad photo of them. Well, that and the AMAZING golden Phoenix light. But it was mainly them ;)
It was my incredible honour to photograph these two beautiful people. I've been bursting at the seams to share these photo's. This just might be my favourite photo shoot. Ever. Prepare yourself for photo overload. I just had way too many favourites!!
Amy & Jordan, thank you for blessing me with such a wonderful friendship. I am SO glad destiny, and Jasmine Star, brought us together. Love you besties!!!
