Backyard Beauty

So I have been racking my brain lately of different types of posts that I could do on a regular basis without it getting too redundant or impossible to keep up. And so, drumroll......... Backyard Beauty! My goal for these is to push myself to take more pictures as well as find beauty in places I might not usually take notice of. Time will tell just what this turns into.

And for the first post of this, here are some pictures from my backyard, literally.

Maternity Photo Shoot

This was my first photo shoot using guitars as props and I am so happy with the way the photo's turned out! The personality of these two really shined through and I love that now they have unique, personal photo's of this amazing time in their lives. Plus, really isn't it every girls dream to have their love play the guitar and sing to them?

Flowers

This past summer living in Carman, Manitoba I did not have many people to practise my photography on, being new in the town and not knowing anyone before moving! And so, in lieu of people I took many many pictures of flowers. Yes, flowers. They are quite good subjects to practise photography on because they, unlike people, don't move. It was also a really great way to learn about light and how it impacts your subject, and it was helped me try to get different perspectives to make a photo more interesting. Probably the main thing it helped with was boredom, I had waaaaay to much free time for my own good last summer.

I realize that most of these look like they belong in a calendar; but, I spent too much time with flowers this past summer not to give them a little blog recognition.

My Point Is....

Recently, my fiance and I were talking about how I use 100 words to try to say what I mean when 10 would have been enough. I talk a lot, and ramble. A lot. We talked about ways that I could get my point across in less words. So, without further ado...

My Point Is: I want to do more with my photography.

I am not quite sure what 'more' looks like, but it is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. I could say a lot more, but I really am trying to work on this whole rambling thing.

Some pictures from our trip to Victoria last September that I've been wanting to share - enjoy!
